Edith Pringle is a proud JHS teacher who has spent 20 years with Franklin Tech impacting future health care professionals. She currently teaches PLTW Medical Interventions, a Phlebotomy course where students can leave as a certified phlebotomist and an Intro to Medical Science which really breaches all topics in regard to humans and health care. She says the way she arrived at education was “by the grace of God.” She began her career in finance but felt a persistent calling to become a nurse. At the time, she was also singing in a band, but she set that aside to pursue the path she felt led to follow. She earned her LPN through the VOTEC program in Warrensburg and continued her education at University of Central Missouri while working at Warrensburg Medical Center. She also attended State Fair Community College. Over the years, she worked in nearly every hospital department imaginable, gaining a depth of experience that now enriches her classroom daily.
Originally from California, her life journey has taken her across the country and into countless roles of service. Her family story is just as unique and well worth the time to go listen to her tell it. Her mother was the youngest woman ever accepted into a nunnery at age 15 in San Diego. She has two grown children, two step children and is a proud grandmother to a grandson and a granddaughter. She is married to a retired minister who is now a pilot, and together they share a heart for helping others, including operating a bail bonds business.
Edith is an artist at heart. She draws, paints, plays guitar, and hopes to learn piano. A lifelong fitness enthusiast, she is a certified yoga instructor and plans to teach more yoga and cardio classes in the future. Earlier in life, she even led Air Force fitness programs—nicknamed the “Fat Boy Program”—both overseas in England and at a base in Missouri.
She will retire in May, closing a remarkable chapter in both healthcare and education. Retirement for Edith won’t be slow-paced. She looks forward to traveling with her husband, continuing her fitness instruction, and learning a new language with her lifetime Rosetta Stone subscription.

Dedicated School Time for Extra Support
Starting in January 2026, all Joplin High School students will have the opportunity to receive dedicated, in-school support services to help them Level Up their academic success in the classes and subjects they need it most. Level Up options will fill the former Transitions period, and will be offered every day of the week.
Level Up is designed to help students improve grades, build skills, and stay on track for graduation before small problems become large obstacles. The time is focused on individual growth and success, not punishment. We understand that everyone needs support sometimes, even when the grade card shows an A or a B, and Level Up is designed to meet those needs right in the middle of the school day, without asking students to come early or stay late for tutoring. The goal is effectively to help students take ownership of their own learning so they can Level Up their academics.
Three Levels of Opportunity
Intervention: Targeted Support
This is a 30-minute session that provides focused help on a SPECIFIC LEARNING STANDARD. Students will work with a teacher to relearn, practice, and retest to master a specific standard in a specific content area.
Academic Opportunity: The Catch-Up
This is 30 minutes of structured time for students who have a D or an F to work with a teacher to improve their grades, complete missing work, retake assessments, and get help.
Eagle Time: The Reward
This is a 30-minute reward period for students who are meeting expectations and mastering standards as expected. Students can choose from a variety of non-classroom locations to socialize, get ahead on work, read, or relax.

Student and Parents Reminders & Updates |
As we enter the final weeks of the school year, this is an important time to stay focused, finish strong, and take pride in all that has been accomplished.
April and May can feel busy, but they are also full of opportunity. Every assignment, assessment, and class period matters. Finishing the year with strong attendance, consistent effort, and a positive attitude will set students up for success—both now and in the future.
We encourage all students to:
- Stay engaged and give their best effort each day
- Keep up with assignments and communicate with teachers
- Take advantage of support opportunities when needed
- Demonstrate Eagle pride through positive behavior and strong character
Families, your support during this time is invaluable. Encouraging good routines, attendance, and accountability makes a significant difference as students work toward a successful finish.
Let’s work together to make these final weeks meaningful, productive, and something we can all be proud of.
The time is now—let’s finish strong, Eagles!
