Zachary Woolverton is in his second year teaching at Franklin Tech, where he leads Foundations of Technology and Explorations of Technology. His classes introduce students to the world of engineering and hands-on technical skills, including tool use, plastics, metals, and woods. He’s hoping to expand the program soon with a year-long traditional woodshop course.
A Webb City native, Zachary graduated from Crowder College with an Associate of Arts in Teaching before earning his degree in Teaching Engineering and Technology Education from Pittsburg State University, where he emphasized wood manufacturing. After student teaching and subbing for a semester in Webb City, he joined the JHS team. Zachary recently married his wife, Mallory, who is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
Outside the classroom, Zachary enjoys staying active and creative. He plays in an adult soccer league, competes in tournament fishing across Missouri (go check out his trophy collection in his classroom), and continues woodworking projects on the side—something that perfectly fits his passion and profession. Looking ahead, he dreams of one day moving south—perhaps to Texas or Florida—and living life on the lake.
